5-Minute Chilli Oil Noodles: The Easiest Good Dinner

When you need dinner quickly, noodles are hard to beat. Add chilli oil, a few simple ingredients and yesterday's noodles, and you can have a spicy, satisfying meal without spending your evening in the kitchen.

This 5-minute chilli oil noodles recipe is ideal for busy weeknights, quick lunches or those moments when you want something good to eat without thinking too hard about dinner.

What You Need

For one generous serving, you'll need:

  • Cooked noodles
  • 1–2 teaspoons of chilli oil, depending on your heat tolerance
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 small garlic clove, finely grated or minced
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • Spring onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds
  • Optional: a little sugar or honey for balance

The star is the chilli oil. Etinde House 250ML Habanero Chilli Oil combines Habanero and Carolina Reaper chilli with cold-pressed rapeseed oil, giving you serious heat alongside flavour.

How To Make 5-Minute Chilli Oil Noodles

1. Cook your noodles

Use whatever noodles you have available. Fresh noodles, egg noodles or leftover cooked noodles all work.

If you're using leftover noodles straight from the fridge, simply loosen them in boiling water for a minute before draining.

2. Make the chilli oil sauce

In a bowl, combine the chilli oil, soy sauce, garlic and sesame oil.

If you prefer your noodles slightly sweeter, add a tiny amount of sugar or honey. This balances the salt and chilli without making the sauce taste sweet.

3. Toss everything together

Add your hot noodles to the bowl and toss thoroughly until every strand is coated.

This is where the magic happens: the heat from the noodles helps loosen the chilli oil and spreads the sauce evenly.

4. Finish and serve

Top with sliced spring onions and sesame seeds.

For extra crunch, try crushed peanuts or crispy onions. For more substance, add a fried egg, shredded chicken, tofu or some quick-fried vegetables.

How Hot Should Chilli Oil Noodles Be?

That's completely up to you.

If you're new to spicy food, start with a small amount of chilli oil and add more gradually. If you already love serious heat, you can increase the amount — but Etinde House's Habanero Chilli Oil is extra hot, so a little can go a long way.

The beauty of chilli oil noodles is that they're easy to customise. You can make them hotter, sweeter, saltier or more savoury depending on what you have in the cupboard.

And you don't need a complicated recipe to make them work.

Five minutes. One bowl. A handful of ingredients. Dinner sorted.
